Glass Buddy Privacy Policy

Overview

Glass Buddy is committed to protecting your privacy. This app is designed with privacy in mind - we collect minimal data and store everything locally on your device.

Data Collection

Glass Buddy does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All data (glass colors, projects, kiln programs, firing logs) is stored locally on your device using SQLite database.

Photo Library Access

The app requests photo library permission (iOS/Android only) to save exported comparison images and kiln program schedules in PNG or PDF format. This permission is:

• Optional: You can use the app without granting this permission
• Add-only: The app only saves files you explicitly export
• User-initiated: Only used when you tap "Export as Image" or "Export as PDF"

Crash Reporting

Glass Buddy uses Sentry, a third-party crash reporting service, to improve app stability. When the app crashes, Sentry collects:

• Error type and stack trace (technical error information)
• Device type and operating system version
• App version number
• Actions leading up to the crash (e.g., "User tapped Projects tab")

What is NOT collected: Your name, email, location, or any personal information. Crash reports are anonymous and used solely to identify and fix bugs.

Data Storage

All app data is stored locally on your device in:

• SQLite database: Glass colors, projects, kiln programs, firing logs
• AsyncStorage: User preferences (filters, temperature unit, onboarding flags)

This data is never transmitted to external servers. The app works completely offline.

Data Deletion

Uninstalling Glass Buddy from your device permanently removes all local data including:

• Custom projects and firing logs you created
• Saved filter preferences
• All app settings

There is no account or cloud backup - uninstalling means complete data removal.

Third-Party Services

Glass Buddy uses the following third-party service:

• Sentry (sentry.io) - Crash reporting and error tracking. See Sentry's privacy policy at sentry.io/privacy

Children's Privacy

Glass Buddy does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app is designed for adult glass artists and hobbyists.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
